Note: I am posting this message in memory of my mother, Irmgard Kuchenbecker, born 4 December 1921 in Berlin, died 14 June 1999 in Edinburgh, Scotland. She was the daughter of Paul Otto Kuchenbecker (1900-1945) and his wife Elfriede Bosselmann (1900-1951), and she married a Scottish soldier, David Boyd Paterson, in Travemunde/Lubeck in July 1947.She was a woman of strong and loyal character, who braved an environment hostile to Germans, when she went to Scotland with her new husband. A resourceful person, she had a flourishing hairdressing business, and later taught hairdressing in a college. In retirement, she was a loving grandmother to my daughter.
