Note: Nachruf Nachruf U.S. Congressman. He immigrated to the United States, in with his parents in 1888 and settled in Brooklyn, New York. He studied law at the New York Law School, was admitted to the bar in 1908 and commenced to practice law in Brooklyn. He was a member of the New York State Assembly, (1905-06) and served in the New York State Senate, (1907-08). In 1908, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixtieth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Charles T. Dunwell and reelected to the Sixty-first Congress, serving 1911. Declining to be a candidate for re-nomination, he moved to California and resumed the practice of law until his death at age 67. |
